This is a very common question. The dogs we import have been carefully bred for workability and adaptability from notable, proven working lines. These dogs are bred for generations to work. Many domestic lines have been bred for looks and social skills or show and sport. The traits necessary in top working dogs can be diluted and lessened without selective breeding. All dogs receive complete health screenings prior to being imported and after arrival here.

The dogs are trained or pre-trained in foreign language command prior to arrival. They are left in a foreign language for the completion of their training here. This provides continuity for the dog. Having a dog trained in foreign languages also makes it more difficult for someone else to give confusing or counter commands to your dog.

Included in the cost are the purchase of the dog, handler training, housing at our facility during handler training, and a one-year guarantee. Please contact us for more details.

Dogs come with x-rays (hips and elbows), microchip/tattoo, complete blood work, heartworm/parasite free, all vaccinations, veterinary health certificate, and a 1-year replacement guarantee.

Most dogs are between the ages of 1 and 3 years.

Gender is not a factor in quality performance. Skill, performance, and compatibility are relative to each individual dog. Customers who have a personal preference regarding gender are encouraged to let us know so that we can find the best possible canine to suit them.

Yes, as long as the dog will do the work and work with you. When procuring dogs, we stress attitude and performance first.

Worldwide Canine only uses real odors in the training of our canines. We never use synthetic or pseudo-odor samples. Synthetic odors do not have the same chemical composition as real scent samples. When canines encounter large amounts of explosives or narcotics and are trained on pseudo-scents, it is extremely difficult for them to locate the source. Numerous court cases support the fact that dogs must be trained on real odor.

The time it takes to train a dog varies and is relative to the individual dog and the level of training the dog is receiving.

After discussing what you need in a dog, we get a signed Contract and deposit from you and schedule your department's K-9 Handler to come to Handler School for training with the dog. Your handler will work with several dogs over the course of the class and go home with the one he/she works best with. Handler School and Housing are included in the cost of the dog.

Each course has an attendance of up to 8 people. We keep each class small enough to allow for maximum use of facilities and instructors' time by each attendee.

After discussing what you need in a dog, we get a signed Contract and deposit from you, and your dog's training is completed to your specifications over the next 4 to 6 weeks. You can have a trainer bring your dog to you and work with you at your home. You would be responsible for the cost of flight/travel, hotel for the trainer, and any other travel expenses. If you choose, you can pick up your personal protection dog at our facility and train here. Transportation/travel costs for you and the dog will be your responsibility.

An adult dog can bond with a new family. The full bonding process takes about 2 weeks. Our staff will instruct you on how to work through this period. When buying a puppy, you run a big risk with attitude and temperament, as well as the cost of shoes, rugs, etc., as the puppy grows and matures.

This is possible but not probable. Few dogs can be trained for personal protection. The traits and drives necessary for a personal protection dog are not in every dog, and the dog's upbringing can affect its desire to perform. Dogs are tested as they reach maturity for proper drives. Dogs who display proper traits to be personal protection dogs still need to be sent for professional training, in this case, at the owner's expense.
